Before you can work your first shift, Croux runs a background check through Turn. Here's what to expect and what to do if there's a delay.
π How Long Does It Take?
Most background checks complete within 2-5 business days. Some may take up to 7-10 days depending on:
- County court processing times
- Verification of your information
- Whether additional documentation is needed
π Starting the Background Check
When you first sign up, you'll see a consent screen:
Tap Proceed to start. You'll then go through the Turn verification process:
π How to Check Your Status
- Open the Croux app
- Go to More
- Click into Background Check to check status indicator
While your check is processing, you'll see:
You'll also receive an email from Turn with updates.
β Approved!
Once your background check passes, you'll see the approved status:
You're now cleared to work shifts on Croux!
π€ What If It's Taking Longer Than Expected?
β Check your email
Turn may have sent you an email asking for additional information. Look for emails from @turn.ai (check your spam folder too).
π§ Reaching Turn directly
If you need to contact Turn β for example, to ask about a finding or correct information you submitted β you can email their candidate support team at support@turn.ai. If you received an adverse action notice, Turnβs contact information is also included on that notice.
β Verify your information
Common issues that cause delays:
- Name spelled differently than on your ID
- Wrong date of birth
- SSN entry error
- Address doesn't match records
β Common Background Check Issues
β° "Pending" for a long time
Some counties have slower court systems. This is unfortunately out of our controlβTurn has to wait for the county to respond.
β‘οΈ "Consider" status
This means something appeared on your record that Turn will review. You'll receive an email if we need additional information from you.
π« "Suspended" status
If your background check is marked suspended, you may need to provide additional documentation. Check your email for more steps from Turn.
π Already Selected for a Shift?
If you were selected for a shift but your background check isn't complete yet:
- You'll appear as "standby" or "reserve" until cleared
- Once cleared, you'll be fully confirmed
- If the check doesn't clear in time, the shift may go to another candidate
