Welcome to Croux! This guide walks you through every step from creating your account to getting paid for your first shift. Follow each stage in order and you'll be shift-ready in no time.
Stage 1: Download the App & Create Your Account
Croux is a mobile-first platform — everything happens in the app.
- Download the Croux app from the App Store or Google Play
- Tap "Join The Croux" and select Talent
- Enter your phone number, email, and create a password — or sign up with Google or Apple
- Verify your phone number via the code texted to you
Tip: Use a phone number and email you check regularly — this is how we'll contact you about shifts and payments.
Stage 2: Set Up Your Stripe Account (How You Get Paid)
Croux pays talent through Stripe — a secure payment platform. You'll be prompted to set up your Stripe account during signup.
- Follow the prompts to create your Stripe account
- Enter your legal name, date of birth, and last 4 of your SSN
- Add your bank account or debit card for payouts
- Complete Stripe's identity verification
Important: You won't be able to get paid until your Stripe account is fully verified. If you get stuck, check out How to Access Your Stripe Account & Transfer Money.
Stage 3: Consent to Your Background Check
All Croux talent must pass a basic background check through our partner, Turn. There is a one-time $12 fee that is automatically deducted from your first shift payment — you don't pay anything upfront.
- In the app, you'll be prompted to consent to the background check
- Turn will run the screening (usually takes 1-3 business days)
- You'll see your status update to "Approved" once you pass

Stage 4: Complete Your Profile
A complete profile helps businesses choose you for shifts. Go to More > My Profile to fill in:
- Job Interest — what types of positions you're looking for
- Work Experience — your relevant hospitality or service experience
- Profile Photo — a clear, professional headshot
- Location — so we show you shifts near you
You'll see a progress bar showing how many items are left. The more complete your profile, the more opportunities you'll unlock.
Stage 5: Upload Your Uniform Photo
Most shifts require a specific uniform. You'll need to upload a photo of yourself wearing each required uniform before you can be hired for those shifts.
- Go to More > Certificates (or the app will prompt you when you apply)
- Select the uniform type
- Upload a forward-facing photo with your face visible, wearing the complete uniform
- Our team reviews it — usually within 24 hours

Stage 6: Complete Training
Before you're eligible for shifts, complete these three quick steps:
- Watch the training video (about 10 minutes) — Watch here
- Pass the quiz (80% to pass) — Take the quiz
- Call TARA to share your work experience and preferences — (205) 769-4861

Stage 7: Browse & Apply for Shifts
Once your profile is complete and background check is approved, you can start applying!
- Open the Open Shifts tab
- Browse available shifts — you can filter by position, date, and distance
- Tap a shift to see details: pay rate, location, time, and requirements
- Tap "Apply"
Tips:
- Apply early — popular shifts fill fast
- Make sure you have the required uniform approved before applying
- Check that you can make the full shift time before applying

Stage 8: Get Selected, Accept & Confirm
After you apply, here's what happens:
Selected — The business picks you. Accept or withdraw as soon as possible.
Hired — You accepted and you're on the schedule. Don't forget to confirm 24-48 hours before the shift.
Confirmed — You're all set. Show up, clock in, and have a great shift!
Important:
- You must confirm at least 24 hours before the shift or you'll be automatically removed
- A no-show results in permanent suspension from the platform
- A late cancellation (less than 24 hours' notice) on your first shift leads to a 30-day suspension

Stage 9: Work Your Shift
- Arrive on time (or a few minutes early)
- Clock in using the Croux app when you arrive — you must be at the location for GPS to work
- Do great work!
- Clock out when your shift ends
Tip: Make sure location services are enabled for the Croux app. You need to be at the shift location to clock in and out.
Stage 10: Rate Your Shift & Get Paid
- After your shift, rate the experience in the app — this is required before payment is released
- The business approves your timesheet (or it auto-approves after the review window)
- Payment is deposited to your Stripe account
- Transfer your earnings to your bank from Stripe (standard: 2-3 business days, or instant for a 3% fee)
