What Is TARA and How Does It Help Me?
TARA is Croux's AI-powered phone assistant that helps you build a stronger profile so you can get matched to better shifts, faster. It's a quick phone call that covers your work experience, availability, and weekly shift goals — and it can boost your Profile Score by up to 50%.
How TARA Works
TARA is a short AI phone call (about 5-10 minutes) that you can complete anytime. During the call, TARA will ask about:
- Your work experience — past roles, industries, and skills
- Your availability — when you're free to work
- Your weekly shift goals — how many shifts you'd like to pick up each week
TARA uses your answers to help Croux understand what kinds of shifts are the best fit for you. The more the platform knows about your preferences, the better it can match you with the right opportunities.
When Will I See TARA?
TARA appears as a step during your onboarding — right after you enter your contact information. You'll see a screen explaining what TARA is and how it helps your profile.
You may also see TARA listed as a shift prerequisite on certain high-quality shifts. If TARA is required for a shift you want, you can complete the call directly from the shift details screen.
Do I Have to Complete TARA?
No — TARA is optional during onboarding. You can skip it and move on. However, completing TARA is one of the highest-impact ways to improve your Profile Score, which directly affects the shifts you're matched with.
If you skip TARA during signup, you can always come back to it later from your Profile screen.
Why Should I Complete TARA?
Here's what completing TARA gets you:
- Up to 50% Profile Score boost — TARA completion is one of the highest-weighted factors in your score
- Better shift matching — Croux can recommend shifts that fit your experience and schedule
- Access to high-quality shifts — Some premium shifts require TARA as a prerequisite
- Faster path to your first shift — A complete profile means you're ready to work sooner
How to Complete TARA
- When you see the TARA screen during onboarding (or from your Profile), tap the button to start
- You'll receive a phone call from TARA at the number you signed up with
- Answer the questions honestly — there are no wrong answers
- The call takes about 5-10 minutes, and you can do it anytime that works for you
Once the call is complete, your Profile Score updates automatically and you'll be eligible for shifts that require TARA.
Tips for a Great TARA Call
- Find a quiet spot — TARA is AI-powered, so clear audio helps the conversation go smoothly
- Be specific about your experience — Mention the types of roles you've worked (bartending, catering, warehouse, etc.)
- Be honest about your availability — This helps Croux suggest shifts that actually fit your schedule
Your Privacy on a TARA Call
Because TARA is an AI assistant, your call is recorded and transcribed so Croux can build and improve your profile, match you to shifts, and keep the platform safe. Here's what that means for you:
- You can ask for a person instead — If you'd rather not be recorded, or you'd prefer a human-conducted intake, email support@croux.co. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
- Your recording isn't kept forever — Raw audio from a TARA call is kept for up to 12 months, then deleted or de-identified.
- TARA isn't a voice-ID system — Your TARA recording is used to build your profile and improve matching. Croux does not use it to identify you as a voiceprint or biometric identifier. If we ever add a feature that does, we'll give you a separate notice and ask for your consent first.
- You can fix mistakes — If TARA gets something wrong on your profile, email support@croux.co and we'll review and correct it.
- You can request a human review — If an automated decision significantly affects you (for example, your eligibility or Trust Score), you can ask for a person to review it at support@croux.co.
