Congrats on landing your first Croux shift! Here's everything you need to show up confident and crush it.
Before Your Shift
What to Bring
- Your phone — You'll need the Croux app to clock in/out
- A charged battery — Make sure your phone has enough juice to last the shift
- Your ID — You may need to show it on arrival
What to Wear
Check your shift details in the app for specific dress code requirements. The app shows you exactly what's expected:
General guidelines:
- Black pants + black shirt is the most common requirement
- Closed-toe, non-slip shoes for kitchen and service roles
- Clean, wrinkle-free clothes — you're representing yourself and Croux
- No strong fragrances — keep it neutral
You may also need to upload a photo of yourself in uniform for review:
Plan Your Route
- Know exactly where you're going — check the address in the app
- Account for traffic and parking — arriving stressed is no fun
- Aim to arrive 10-15 minutes early — gives you time to find the entrance, check in, and get oriented
Day Of: Step by Step
1. Arrive Early
Get there 10-15 minutes before your start time. This shows professionalism and gives you buffer time.
2. Find Your Contact
Look for a manager or supervisor. Introduce yourself: "Hi, I'm [Your Name] from Croux. I'm here for the [role] shift."
3. Clock In
When you arrive at the location and are ready to start:
- Open the Croux app
- Tap "Clock In"
- The app uses your location to verify you're at the right place
Important: You must be physically at the shift location to clock in. GPS verification is required.
4. Do Great Work
- Follow instructions from the on-site manager
- Ask questions if you're unsure about something — it's better to ask than guess
- Stay busy — if you finish a task, ask what you can do next
- Be friendly and professional with staff and customers
5. Clock Out
When your shift ends:
- Confirm with the manager that you're good to go
- Open the Croux app
-
Tap "Clock Out"
After Your Shift
Rate Your Experience
After clocking out, you'll be asked to rate the shift. You must submit a rating — it's quick, just a tap and optional comments.
Get Paid
Once you rate the shift and the business approves your time, your pay is released to your Stripe balance. Standard bank transfers then take 2–3 business days; Instant Payout arrives in minutes for a fee.
Clock out → rate the shift → about 24 hours after the scheduled end → paid. Consistent. Predictable.*
*Actual deposit timing may vary based on your bank.
What If Something Goes Wrong?
Running Late?
- Get there as fast as you safely can and clock in the moment you arrive — let the business know through in-app messages if you can. Support cannot clock you in or excuse a late arrival, and if you never clock in, the shift is recorded as a no-show even if you told us you were on the way
- Open the app and let the business know if possible
- Get there as fast as you safely can
Can't Make It?
- Cancel in the app as early as possible
- The earlier you cancel, the less impact on your account
Important: A no-show results in permanent suspension on the first offense. Last-minute cancellations are handled separately, with shorter suspensions that depend on your shift history.

Reliability Matters
Businesses depend on you showing up. Your reliability directly affects your Trust Score and future opportunities.
| Action | What Happens |
|---|---|
| No-show (not showing up, no communication) | Permanent account suspension (first offense) |
| Late cancellation (within 24 hours) | Affects Trust Score and results in a temporary suspension (30 days on your first shift) |
| Frequent cancellations | Reduced visibility to businesses |
| Tardiness | Affects Trust Score |
