As an independent contractor, you're in control of how you perform your services — and that includes managing your own time. Croux does not set or enforce a break schedule.
What the Terms say
From the Croux Terms of Use:
"As an independent contractor, you maintain control over the manner in which you perform your services. You are responsible for managing your own time and taking necessary breaks to perform effectively. Croux does not set or enforce a break schedule."
What that means in practice
- You decide when and how to take the breaks you need to work safely and effectively
- Plan around the flow of the shift — stepping away during a rush affects the team and the business you're working with
- Some venues have their own norms or facilities for breaks; when in doubt, a quick word with the on-site contact goes a long way
If a situation on-site ever goes beyond scheduling into feeling unsafe, intimidated, or disrespected, see Feeling Unsafe at a Worksite: Your Right to Leave and How to Report It.
