Your safety comes first — always. If you ever feel unsafe, intimidated, threatened, or disrespected at a worksite, you have the right to leave. This article explains that right, how to report what happened, and what you can expect from us afterward.
If you are in immediate danger, leave the worksite and call 911 first. Report to Croux once you are safe.
Your right to leave
Under the Croux Terms of Use, talent who feel unsafe, intimidated, threatened, or disrespected may leave the worksite without penalty and report the incident to Croux. When a safety departure is properly reported, Croux will not treat it as a no-show or a late cancellation, and it will not result in a suspension or any reliability consequence from Croux.
Report it within 24 hours — this is required
To be treated as a safety departure, the incident must be reported to Croux within 24 hours of leaving the worksite. Email support@croux.co with:
- The shift code and the business name
- What happened, in as much detail as you are comfortable sharing
- When you arrived and when you left
Your report will be documented on your file and reviewed with our HR team. Reporting protects you: it is what distinguishes a safety departure from an unexcused one, and it allows us to address the situation with the business.
What we can and cannot promise
We want to be straightforward with you about how this works:
- No Croux penalty. A properly reported safety departure will not be treated as a no-show or late cancellation, and Croux will not suspend you or penalize your standing for it.
- Pay. You will be paid for the time you actually worked. We cannot guarantee compensation for scheduled hours that were not worked.
- Future shifts with that business. Businesses make their own hiring decisions, including managing their own hiring lists. We cannot guarantee how an individual business will approach future engagements. This has no effect on your ability to work with any other business on Croux.
What happens after you report
Our team will review your report, document it, and follow up with you if we need more information. Every report is taken seriously and handled with discretion. Where appropriate, we address the conduct with the business directly.
