Sometimes a shift disappears from your schedule because the business removed you from it, not because anything happened on your end. Here is what that means and what it does not mean.
Why it happens
Businesses manage their own staffing and can adjust headcount for a shift up to 24 hours before it starts. Event needs change: a party shrinks, a booking cancels, a venue shifts its plan. When that happens, talent who were hired for the shift may be released from it.
What it means for your account
- It is not a cancellation by you. A business removal is never counted as a talent cancellation, so the late-cancellation policy does not apply to you.
- There is no penalty. No suspension, no strike, nothing you need to appeal.
- You can keep applying right away. Your account works exactly as it did before, and you are free to pick up another shift in the same time slot.
What about pay?
Pay follows worked time. If you were removed before the shift began, there are no hours to pay out. If you had already arrived or started working when you were sent home, the Early Dismissal policy protects your pay with a minimum payout. Common questions
Can I find out why I was removed? Staffing decisions belong to the business, and we are not able to share their reasoning. A removal is about the business's needs for that shift and is not a rating of you.
My app shows the shift as canceled by me — what do I do? If you believe a business removal was recorded as your cancellation, contact support with the shift code (the 6-character code shown with your shift) and we will review it.
Does this affect my ability to work for that business again? Being released from one shift does not remove you from a business's future shifts. You can apply to their postings like anyone else.
