Canceled a shift late? Here's what happens and how it affects your account.
What Counts as a Late Cancellation?
A late cancellation is when you cancel a confirmed shift less than 24 hours before the start time.
What Happens When a Business Cancels or Removes You
If a business cancels a shift or removes you from a shift you were hired for, you will be automatically notified right away. If the change happens within 24 hours of the shift start, a Late Cancellation Fee is charged to the business — not to you.
Consequences of Late Cancellations (Talent-Initiated)
Trust Score Impact
Every late cancellation lowers your Trust Score. A lower Trust Score means fewer shift opportunities and lower priority when businesses are selecting talent.
Late Cancellation Suspension Tiers
Suspension length depends on how many shifts you've completed:
- First-shift late cancel (no completed shifts yet): 30-day suspension
- Second late cancel with no completed shifts: Permanent suspension
- 0–29 completed shifts: 14-day suspension
- 30+ completed shifts: 7-day suspension
Once you've completed at least one shift, the tier system always applies — multiple late cancellations do not escalate to permanent removal.

How to Avoid Late Cancellations
- Only confirm shifts you're certain you can work
- If something comes up, cancel as early as possible (before the 24-hour window)
- Set calendar reminders for confirmed shifts
- Keep your availability updated in the app
