Every shift posting describes the role's essential duties, and some come with physical or functional requirements — like standing for extended periods, lifting certain weights, or navigating crowded spaces. A minute of review before you apply saves everyone a hard conversation later.
Before you accept
- Read the posting's requirements and accept only shifts you can perform safely and effectively
- Questions, or think you may need an accommodation? Contact us before accepting — see How Do I Request an Accessibility Accommodation?. Croux may coordinate with the business as appropriate.
What you bring vs. what the business provides
- You bring: your transportation to and from the shift, closed-toe shoes, and ordinary work-appropriate attire
- The business provides: the site-specific tools, equipment, and materials the shift requires
If you can't perform an accepted shift
If you realize you can't perform the essential duties of a shift you've accepted, cancel it in the app yourself as early as you can. Support cannot cancel it for you, reassign it, or waive the cancellation rules because of the reason. Cancelling within 24 hours of the start counts as a late cancellation regardless of why — see What Happens After a Late Cancellation. The earlier you flag a problem, the more options everyone has.
