Need to fill a shift quickly due to a cancellation or no-show? Here is how to get coverage fast.
Step 1: Remove the Worker (if needed)
If a hired worker can no longer make it and has not canceled on their own, you can remove them directly from the shift in the app. The spot reopens immediately for new applicants.
If removal is within 24 hours of the shift start, a Late Cancellation Fee applies.
Step 2: Use Auto-Fill (Recommended)
If Auto-Fill is enabled on your shift, Croux automatically works to find qualified replacements when a worker cancels or is removed.
How it works:
- Our AI immediately searches for available, qualified talent
- Workers with higher Trust Scores are prioritized
- You are notified when a replacement is confirmed
Step 3: Manually Invite From My Croux
If you have workers you trust saved to your My Croux list, you can invite them directly to fill the open spot:
- Open the shift in the Croux app
- Tap Invite Workers
- Select from your My Croux list
- Invited workers receive a notification and can accept immediately
This is especially useful for same-day needs when you want a specific worker you have worked with before.
Step 4: Post an Urgent Shift
For same-day or next-day needs where Auto-Fill and manual invites have not filled the spot:
- Create a new shift with the immediate start time
- Enable Auto-Fill
- Consider offering a slightly higher rate for urgent fills
Step 5: Use Concierge
Tell Concierge what you need:
- "I need a replacement bartender for tonight at 6pm"
- Concierge will help create and fill the shift quickly
