Concierge staffs your shifts automatically. You do not work through applicants or manage a roster — you tell Concierge what good looks like at your venue, and it does the rest.
Concierge lives in the Croux web app. Sign in at app.croux.co on a computer or tablet browser to use it. The mobile app does not include Concierge.
This article is about how a shift gets staffed and the inputs that steer it. For a walkthrough of using the Concierge assistant itself — what to type, what it asks before it acts, and how to correct it — see Concierge in 5 Steps, 5 Minutes.
What happens when you post
| Step | What Concierge does |
|---|---|
| 1 | Narrows to Croux who carry that position and meet the experience minimum you set |
| 2 | Reaches for your favorites first, then the people who have worked well for you before |
| 3 | Selects them for the shift. Each person is on your shift once they tap Accept; talent who chose to accept in advance when they applied are hired the moment Concierge selects them. How soon Concierge selects depends on when the shift starts and how many spots it has (see below) |
How quickly Concierge selects
| Your shift | In the first 24 hours after posting |
|---|---|
| Starts within 96 hours | Concierge selects good matches right away |
| Starts later, 4 or more spots | Concierge selects right away, but only its strongest matches |
| Starts later, 1 to 3 spots | Concierge waits 6 hours so more of the right people can apply, then selects only its strongest matches |
After the first 24 hours, every shift is open to the wider range of good matches. If the shift carries a Preferred label, only your labeled talent can apply during those first 24 hours, however soon the shift starts. See Using labels to organize your talent.
Speed is most of the value. The best people get booked quickly, and reaching them first is what fills your shift.
Skilled roles: bartending and line cook
Concierge fills bartending and line cook shifts like any other, with one difference: it only selects Croux who have done that role, on a Croux shift or in work history they listed. Croux with related experience, such as a bar back or kitchen helper, may be invited to apply, and you decide whether to select them.
Everything else on this page still applies to them. Your favorites, Do Not Hire list, ratings and experience minimum all still shape who we reach for on a bar shift. Tell us who you want behind your bar and we will get them on it.
The four inputs that steer it
You do not need all four. Each one on its own improves who Concierge sends.
| Input | Meaning and where |
|---|---|
| Favorite them | “Send this person first.” The strongest signal you can give Where: Heart icon on any profile |
| Do Not Hire | “Never send this person again” creates a whole-business restriction; specify positions if you only want particular roles excluded Where: Their profile for a whole-business block; Concierge for position restrictions |
| Rate and comment | The detail a rating alone cannot carry — what they are good at, and where they are not Where: Timesheet approval |
| Experience minimum | “This role takes skill.” On most roles, a shift set to zero years is open to anyone carrying the position. On skilled roles such as Line Cook and Bartender, Concierge only selects Croux who have done that role, on a Croux shift or in work history they listed. It may also invite Croux with related experience, such as a kitchen helper or bar back, to apply, and you decide whether to select them Where: Shift or template setup |
You still decide who works
| You can always | Detail |
|---|---|
| Remove anyone | Including someone already hired, up to 24 hours before the shift starts, at no charge |
| Ask for specific people | Tell us who you want on a shift and we will put them on it |
| Change the requirements | Position, experience minimum, uniform, timing |
Common questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Can Concierge print sign-in sheets for my job sites? | Yes. In the web app, ask Concierge, for example “Print this weekend’s sign-in sheets.” You get one printable PDF with a page for each site and day. Each page lists the talent hired, with columns for role, hours, clock in, clock out, signature and notes, plus blank rows for anyone added on the day |
| Can I still pick people myself? | Yes. What changed is that your shift no longer waits on that step to start filling. Tell us who you want and we will put them on it |
| What if someone is sent who should not be? | Remove them up to 24 hours before the shift at no charge, and add them to Do Not Hire so it does not happen again |
| Will Concierge send someone who has never done the role? | Not on skilled roles such as Line Cook and Bartender. There, Concierge only selects Croux who have done that role, on a Croux shift or in work history they listed, and only they appear in Recommended. Concierge may also invite Croux with related experience, such as a kitchen helper, bar back or cocktail server, to apply. They show up as applicants, and you decide whether to select them. On other roles, Concierge considers Croux who carry the position on the posting, and your experience minimum narrows it further. You can still select anyone yourself |
| Do I have to set anything up? | No. Concierge works from the history you already have with people. The inputs above make it better, they are not a prerequisite |
If you have a lot to tell us at once
Send it to us at support@croux.co however is easiest — a list, a spreadsheet, or an email in your own words. Who you want on bar, who you want on banquets, who you would rather not see back. We will apply it for you. Just say the word.
Choose the scope of Do Not Hire
A whole-business Do Not Hire block excludes someone from all your shifts. A position restriction excludes them only from specified roles. Tell Concierge the talent’s name and the roles to exclude, then review the scope and final confirmation. A Bad rating does not itself create a Do Not Hire block.
