If plans change or a worker can no longer make it, you can remove them from the shift directly in the app.
How to Remove a Worker
- Open the shift from your dashboard
- View hired talent for that shift
- Tap the worker you want to remove
- Tap Remove
- Review the confirmation and tap Remove to confirm
What Happens Next
- The worker is immediately removed from the shift
- They receive an automatic notification that they've been removed
- The open spot is immediately available for new applicants
- If Auto-Fill is enabled, Croux begins searching for a replacement automatically
Late Removal Fee
If you remove a worker within 24 hours of the shift start time, a Late Cancellation Fee applies. You will see the fee amount in the confirmation screen before you confirm the removal.
Per the Croux Terms of Use, the fee is the lesser of half the total shift cost or 4 hours' pay. This fee helps compensate talent for the short-notice change.
Removing a worker more than 24 hours before the shift starts incurs no fee.
When to Remove vs. When to Let Talent Cancel
| Scenario | Best Action |
|---|---|
| Worker tells you they can't make it | Ask them to cancel from their end (no fee to you) |
| Worker is unresponsive or hasn't confirmed | Remove them and let the spot refill |
| You no longer need as many workers | Remove the extra workers (plan ahead to avoid fees) |
| Performance concerns from a previous shift | Remove them and consider adding to Do Not Hire |
Tips
- Plan ahead — Make staffing changes more than 24 hours before the shift to avoid fees
- Keep Auto-Fill on — Removed spots refill faster with Auto-Fill enabled
- Build your My Croux list — Have reliable backups ready for quick replacement
