Paying by card adds a 3.75% processing fee to your shift charges. Paying by ACH or bank transfer avoids it. Here's how it works and how to switch.
The Processing Fee
Croux accepts all major credit and debit cards. Card payments are processed through Stripe, and card transactions carry a 3.75% processing fee.
The fee is applied to the total charge for the shift, so it appears on top of the other line items on your invoice rather than as a separate charge. This is why the effective rate on a card-paid invoice runs slightly higher than the platform fee alone.
Paying by ACH or Bank Transfer
ACH and bank transfer payments do not carry the 3.75% card processing fee. For most businesses posting shifts regularly, this is the simplest way to reduce what you pay to Croux without changing anything about how you staff.
ACH is available for some accounts. It isn't a self-service toggle in the app — we set it up for you. To find out whether your account is eligible and get it switched over, email us at business@croux.co or reply to any invoice email and we'll take it from there.
How to Check What You're Paying With
Web app:
- Log in to app.croux.co
- Go to Settings
- Under Business Settings, click Billing (top right)
Mobile app:
- Tap More in the bottom navigation
- Under Business, tap Payment Method
Your active payment method is shown with a green Verified badge.
Common Questions
Why is my total higher than my platform fee alone?
If you pay by card, the 3.75% processing fee is applied to the shift charge. That's the most common reason an invoice total comes in above what the platform fee by itself would suggest.
Can I switch to ACH mid-month?
Yes. Reach out and we'll check eligibility and get it set up. Invoices already issued keep whatever method was on file when they were generated.
Does the processing fee apply to my subscription too?
The 3.75% applies to card transactions processed through Stripe. If you have a question about a specific charge on your invoice, email us with the invoice number and we'll break it down line by line.
