Every Croux shift now spells out exactly which skills the job requires, so you know what's expected before you apply. No guesswork, no surprises.
What This Means for You
- Clear expectations: businesses set the required skills up front, so the shift description is real and you know what the job needs before you accept
- No surprises on site: you confirm you have each required skill when you apply, so you won't be caught off guard or sent home over something nobody mentioned
- Show your experience: confirming the skills you bring, shift after shift, is how your experience works for you on Croux
- Stay current: you reconfirm your skills as you apply, so what you've confirmed always reflects what you can do today
New to hospitality or just getting started? Plenty of shifts call for skills you already have. Apply where the requirements match what you can do today and build from there. Everyone starts somewhere.
Applying to Shifts with Required Skills
When a business sets required skills for a shift, you'll see a Confirm your skills checklist when you tap Apply. Check the box for each skill, and the Apply button unlocks. The reminder on that screen says it best: “Only check skills you can perform. The business may dismiss you without pay otherwise.” Only apply to shifts where you can genuinely do the work. Businesses count on it, and it's what keeps the right matches coming your way.
How long your confirmation lasts
Once you confirm a skill, it's currently good for 60 days, so you won't need to confirm it again on every application. Skills you've confirmed recently come already checked the next time you apply, so repeat applications stay quick. When the window ends, you'll simply be asked to check the box again, a quick reconfirmation rather than a new process. We may fine-tune this timing as the program grows, and the app will always show you exactly when a reconfirmation is needed.
If a skill has been flagged
After a shift, businesses can review and provide feedback on each of your individual skills. If a business has flagged one of your skills, you'll see a note under it the next time you apply: “Recent performance flagged this skill.” That skill's box starts unchecked, and the Apply button stays locked until you check it again. If you're confident in the skill, re-check it right there and continue with your application. Reconfirming tells us you're confident in that skill, and applying to shifts where you can do the work is what keeps your matches strong.
Tips
