If your Croux account has been suspended, here's what you need to know about why it happened, how long it lasts, and what you can do.
Why Was My Account Suspended?
Accounts are typically suspended for:
- Late cancellation — Canceling a shift within 24 hours of the start time
- No-show — Not showing up for a shift you were scheduled to work
These policies exist to protect businesses who are counting on you, and to keep the platform fair for all talent.
How Long Does a Suspension Last?
While a suspension is active, you are removed from every shift scheduled inside that window, not only the one you cancelled. Those spots reopen to other talent right away, and we cannot hold them or add you back while the suspension stands. Shifts scheduled after the suspension ends are not affected.
Suspension length depends on how many shifts you have completed and on what happened.
Late Cancellations
Late cancellation suspensions are temporary in almost every case. Your account is automatically reactivated when the suspension period ends.
| Your Situation | Completed Shifts | Suspension Length |
|---|---|---|
| First late cancellation, before you have worked a shift | 0 | 30 days |
| Second late cancellation, still before you have worked a shift | 0 | Permanent |
| Late cancellation once you have started working | 1-29 | 14 days |
| Late cancellation as an experienced Croux | 30+ | 7 days |
Key point: once you have completed at least one shift, the tier system always applies. Multiple late cancellations do not escalate to permanent removal. And once you reach 30 completed shifts, late cancellation suspensions drop from 14 days to 7.
For the full late cancellation policy, see What Happens After a Late Cancellation.
No-Shows
No-show suspensions are permanent by default. A no-show is recorded when a shift you were scheduled for ends with no clock-in from you. It is recorded automatically, so the business does not have to report it, and clocking in is what prevents it. There are two situations where that can be reviewed, and both are covered below.
If you were marked as a no-show but you actually worked the shift, that is a different situation and it can be corrected. See Disputing a No-show on Your Record.
If a documented emergency kept you from the shift, such as a medical emergency, we will review it. Send us official documentation and we will look at it alongside your shift history. These are reviewed case by case, so we cannot promise an outcome, but every appeal gets a decision and we tell you what it is. The appeal section below covers what to send.
Can I Appeal a Suspension?
Yes. You can appeal any suspension, temporary or permanent, if you believe it was made in error or there were circumstances we should know about. To start an appeal, contact us with:
- Your name and account email
- The shift details (date, time, business)
- What happened and any proof you have
If you are appealing on medical grounds, we need an official note from the treating facility that includes:
- Letterhead from the treating facility
- The signature or name of the attending physician
- The date or dates of treatment
Anything showing you tried to give notice helps too, such as texts or a call log to the business from before your shift start time.
We'll review your case and reach out to the business if needed. Appeals are decided case by case, so we cannot promise a particular outcome, but every appeal gets a decision and we tell you what it is.
How to Avoid Suspensions
- Don't cancel within 24 hours — If something comes up, try to cancel as early as possible
- Always show up — If you're scheduled, be there
- Communicate — If there's an emergency, cancel in the app and let us know immediately
- Clock in — Make sure you clock in when you arrive so there's no confusion about your attendance
When Does My Suspension End?
For temporary suspensions, your account will automatically be reactivated when your suspension period ends. You'll be able to apply for shifts again at that point.
Permanent suspensions do not reactivate on their own. If you believe there has been a mistake, or a documented emergency kept you from your shift, reach out to our support team and we will review it.
One thing to know: if we do lift a suspension, the original no-show still stays on your record as history. Lifting the suspension is the exception being granted; it does not erase what was recorded.
