📱 Setup
To receive payouts, you'll need a Stripe account connected. Stripe setup is not required at signup, you can connect it anytime from the More tab, then Payment Method.
Once Stripe is connected, just complete a shift and your payment flows automatically.
⏱️ When Your Pay Processes
Your pay processes 24 hours after your shift's scheduled end time, not 24 hours after you clock out.
This catches people out, so here is an example. Your shift is scheduled 10:00 AM to 3:15 PM and you clock out a little early at 2:35 PM. Your pay still processes 24 hours after 3:15 PM, because that is when the shift was scheduled to end. Clocking out early does not move your payment up.
To see your own timing, open the Croux app, tap your completed shift, and look for Estimated payment.
💳 Where Your Money Goes
Your earnings travel in two hops, and knowing this saves a lot of worry:
- Croux sends your pay into your Stripe balance. This happens on the 24 hour timing above.
- Stripe then transfers it from that balance to your bank account.
So there is a normal window where your pay has already processed but your bank account still looks empty. Nothing has gone wrong. Your money is sitting in your Stripe balance waiting to make the second hop.
⚡ Standard vs. Instant Payouts
Once your earnings are in your Stripe balance, you have two options:

To use Instant Payouts, you'll need a debit card linked to your Stripe account. You can manage your payout preferences in Stripe's settings.
🆕 Your Very First Payout
The first payment to a brand new bank account usually takes longer than later ones. Stripe holds a new account for a couple of business days the first time as a standard security step. Every payout after that moves at the normal speed shown above.
If it is your first shift and your bank looks empty, check your Stripe balance before worrying. The money is almost always sitting there.
💵 Deductions You May See
Two standard deductions can appear on your payouts, and both are normal:

| Turn background check fee | $12.00 | One time only, taken from your very first payout. It is not refunded, and it is never charged again. |
| Occupational accident insurance | $0.50 per hour, rounded up to the next whole hour | Every shift. This helps cover you if you are ever injured on the job. |
The insurance rounds up, so a 4 hour 45 minute shift is charged as 5 hours, which is $2.50.
Example. Your first shift pays 6 hours at $20.00 per hour, so $120.00. Your first payout would be $120.00 less $3.00 insurance, less the $12.00 one time background check fee, which comes to $105.00. On every shift after that, only the insurance deduction applies.

*Standard processing is 24 hours from your shift's scheduled end time. Some businesses have pre-communicated extended approval windows, and you'll always see this before applying for a shift. Actual deposit timing may also vary by bank.
